Hey guys so thinking about my internship and what I have learned so far, there are things I wish I had known earlier. I wish I had known that in "promoting" and "building brand awareness", that was meaning I would be "selling" and "showcasing" products in a Costco or Sam's Club. This wasn't an ideal internship yet the underlying lessons and things I gained from it were one of a kind. I also wish I had known that with this internship came an incredible amount of coming out of your comfort zone, public speaking, solo days, and times where "struggles" were going to be apart of the internship in order to push and grow you.

For the next intern, I would explain what their role would be, more clearly. The message I would give is that this internship will grow you in so many ways that you won't see until the end. Working as an intern for Core will give you  a peek into professional settings and solid marketing/sales/promotions techniques in the morning meetings. It will also give you an opportunity to network with several people in the business, travel, and grow into a leader. And in the end, if you can be successful in this internship, see the benefits, learn, and take something away from it, you feel so accomplished and feel that there isn't another product you can't promote or location you can't strive in. There isn't much harder things to do as an intern then to try and sell a Mop in a Costco by yourself from 11am-7pm, and be successful. But man it feels great if you can.

I believe I am still young enough and am being told things right now that I am taking advantage of. I don't wish much of things I was told when I was 13. However before high school I wish I was told to really not care what others say and become independent in myself, work, core group of friends, and my family. Something I am really glad I was told and take advantage of all the time, is to network and use people and resources to my advantage. It's not all what you know but who you know and how you can use what you know to develop a relationship with who you know, in order to get where you want to go! Thought of that on the fly. Two weeks left only!

Thanks,

AJ
