Is it August already?!

Hey all!

I don't know about you, but I cannot believe it is August already! My internship is 2/3 of the way over and we start school in exactly three weeks!

My internship however, is getting much more exciting! Now that we a month into the new fiscal year, I can now run many more expense reports for departments, close out accounts so that they represent the college's income better, and make sure everything is set for when we can start putting together year end reports.

That is the biggest thing left to do in this internship and I assume I will be doing it even after school begins. We need to be able to create many documents and spreadsheets to show the college's administration and Board of Trustee's what kind of financial position the college is in. I will be helping the Controller to make sure all these documents are accurate, precise, and professional. We will then send them to the auditors for them to review and make their judgement of how we are doing as well.

Something that we all talk about in our business classes, but something that I am actually doing in my internship! Very exciting for an accounting major like me.
